About The Program
Kalaari’s pioneering Fellowship Program is designed to develop future leaders in the venture capital and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The program is rooted in our belief that nurturing and developing talent is a cornerstone to building a long-term institution. Entrepreneurship is about fearlessly reimagining the world. The fellowship is our endeavor to bring together a group of young and passionate minds and provide them the unique opportunity to get a firsthand experience of the start-up ecosystem.
With this philosophy in mind, we are launching the next batch of our Fellowship.
At Kalaari, we believe in bringing people from diverse experiences and backgrounds. Beyond hard skills, we look for some of the core values that are dear to us and define the way of working at Kalaari.
As a Fellow, you get to learn the ropes of venture capital and the nuances of starting and running a company.

Program Structure
The Fellowship is a highly selective, paid, full-time 2-year structured program designed with the apprenticeship model and multidisciplinary learning at its core. The program operates on a 1+1 model. While we recommend completing 2 years to get the most out of it, we understand that some of you may want to leave at the end of the first year to pursue your individual learning journey. At the end of year one, the program provides for this transition based on fitment and interest.
The Kalaari Fellowship combines structured mentorship with hands-on experience and peer learning. It offers a tremendous opportunity to learn about venture capital and amplify your understanding of the Indian startup ecosystem.
Each fellow will work across projects that encompass the following functions:
Investment Analysis
Identifying new emerging trends, developing investment thesis, sourcing startups, conducting deep market and customer diligence.
Research
Conducting primary and secondary research on sectors, authoring deeply analyzed thematic reports.
Portfolio Support
Performing rigorous financial analysis of existing portfolio companies and new investments, developing robust models for business projections, working on specific projects for portfolio companies.
Marketing & Community
Support the firm in various marketing, branding, and community-building initiatives, Social Media Management.

FAQs
All fellows are expected to be in Bangalore for the duration of the fellowship. This is a full-time, in-person role.Â
The Fellowship is a highly intensive and immersive full-time role. We do not consider applications for part-time or short-duration internships for the Fellowship. College students looking out for summer internships will not be considered for the Fellowship.Â
The Fellowship will start in January 2024. All Fellows are expected to join full-time from this date, and any requests to begin at a later date will not be considered.Â
Ideal candidates have up to 4 years of professional experience. Since the Fellowship is designed for early career professionals, candidates with 5+ years of experience may not benefit from the program.Â
There is no ideal background that is required for you to apply for the Kalaari Fellowship. At Kalaari, we believe that your potential is more important than your pedigree. Our past fellows have come from various backgrounds such as investment banking, consulting, startup operating roles, large corporates, marketing firms, and even ex-founders. We encourage you to apply irrespective of your background.Â
Yes, the stipend is fixed at INR 18L annually. In addition, Fellows and their close family are also covered by the Kalaari medical insurance policy. You will also get other applicable benefits available to all employees at Kalaari.Â
Kalaari provides boarding for the first month of the Fellowship. Post that, we expect you to organize your accommodation for the duration of the Fellowship.Â
As a Fellow, you get to learn the ropes of venture capital and the nuances of starting and running a startup while working with many disruptive startups. Fellows can choose from a variety of options — continue in the path of venture capital, start a company, take up operating roles in corporates, join an elite MBA program, or just follow their passion and dreams. We believe that you will be challenged and transformed as an individual during the course of the program. It’s up to you to make your time with Kalaari truly count by taking initiative and volunteering to do stuff.Â
