Jay is an AVP at Kalaari, where he primarily focuses on software investments, with a strong emphasis on AI-driven and workflow-first solutions.
He launched his first startup right after college—a digital media venture built for India’s student population. He then joined Paper.vc, a startup building a smarter private market intelligence platform for India’s startup ecosystem. At Paper, Jay wore multiple hats—leading research, running their flagship newsletter (which organically scaled to 10,000+ subscribers), and playing a pseudo product manager role across various internal tools and data products.
On weekends, you’ll either find him in his “bat-cave” deep-diving into markets and emerging technologies—or out having long one-on-ones over coffee. He’s an avid basketball and badminton player, and arguably one of the most passionate FC Barcelona fans around. Fun fact: he may be the only Gujarati who doesn’t have a sweet tooth.
